Got there super early for our reservation. So I went straight to the bar. Bartender was on it!! Love it!!! Only thing I did not get his name... :( he was super cool attentive!! (He was wearing glasses)) idk if that helps ? Lol
Once I sat at the bar he was on it! He gave me a menu and gave a couple mins to look over the menu. He was helping other ppl out so I waited. Which I didn't mind... but he did apologize and the. Helped me out. He started talking about the jaguars that were playing on the tv. Which that made me more comfortable. Since I did feel weird being at the bar by myself lol
Guy with the glasses will take care of you!!! Sorry I didn't get your name!!!
Anyways we got a table.Food was soooooo stinking good!!! I got the spicy tuna roll, along with the rib eye screwer and zucchini. Oh the pop corn shrimp was delicious!! I need to go back for more. Drinks weren't that great.
One thing though I did arrive super early to drop off a cake to "SURPRISE" the birthday girl in my party.
Service was splendid up until....
We were done with our food and it was time for dessert.... our server asked if we brought a cake or if we wanted to order something..... ummmmmm "WHAT!??? "
"Hello I brought the cake so it can be a surprised!"""""
I seriously looked at the server "with the pink hair" and in my head asked "are you seriously asking this right now?""
Why would you ask if we brought a cake if it was supposed to be a surprise???
Thank you pink haired waitress for blowing the surprise!! Or should I be thanking the HOST for NOT COMMUNICATING with the server!!?
Someone puked in the men's restroom!!! And we were seating right in front of the restroom is pretty disgusting!!! We would smell and see the puke every time someone would walk in!!!
It took about 20 mins to get it cleaned up. There was a manger standing by our table asking the staff if they were Busboy? Shouldn't a manager know his employees and their position? He was trying to fine s busboy so he could clean the puke up. -

I have loved going here for a long time. Last two times I've gone I've sat at the bar. I remembered I had a bad experience with a bartender there that has short hair, seems like she really hates dudes. I ordered a drink and two appetizers (I was going to order a full meal) from this nice guy who left , after I finished my drink and the whole time I was eating she didn't come up to me once. The bar wasn't even busy, every time a woman came up she was all friendly like hi how are you , being nice, I really didn't put 2 and 2 together till I left, such horrible customer service and if you have some personal issues with certain people or something don't bring it to work. Anyways 30/45 mins sitting there looking like a fool wanting to order another drink and food I asked a bar back for my tab.
It's really sad that this happened and I am someone that drops big coin there, not really going to plan to go there anymore. I'm big on customer service and not someone you want to give a bad experience to. I don't need a reply or offer to come back. You can talk with your staff. Thanks. -

IF I COULD PUT ZERO STARS- I WOULD!
I feel that i had been humiliated by horrible customer service . I've been coming to Katana regularly with my husband because we love the food. This week we came twice. For Saturday night i made a reservation in advance for 9pm. We waited 45 minutes for the table. No one at hostess stand didn't even drop a sign of understanding the frustration. On Sunday night we didn't make a reservation because we know it's usually not as busy. We asked for the table outside and we were advised of 25 minutes wait. After 25 minutes the hostess took us to inside area when we said that we requested outside table. INSTEAD OF JUST LISTENING AND SMALL APOLOGIES FOR MISUNDERSTANDING, the hostess started raising her voice that nothing is guaranteed and if we are not happy we can speak to the manager. We felt its bs but still sat down as we didn't want to wait longer. 3 minutes after the manager comes by with security saying that hostess told them that we had a problem and told her "F... U". What??? We would NEVER NEVER say anything like that to anyone!!! So instead of asking us what happened, we got this accusing attitude. This is so embarrassing when manager comes with security to you without understanding what was going on and talking to customer. It was a very humiliating scene that we had to explain ourselves that we didn't "F.. u" anyone. And than honestly we just left. Because we wouldn't enjoy anymore no matter what the outcome would be.
Im sorry that this place stopped caring about a customer as the name is still bringing the customers in, Definitely not the customer service. -

A beautiful restaurant with a nice ambiance and delicious food. We ordered several different dishes and enjoyed all of them.
Salmon truffle carpaccio: amazing! The salmon was fresh and the truffle adds such a rich flavor. It was so good that we ordered a second plate
Seafood ceviche: suggested by our waitress. It was good and interesting. I liked it, but wouldn't order again
Sushi
Salmon: 3/5 a bit fishier than normal
Toro: 4/5
Yellowtail: 4/5
Unagi: 4/5
Uni: 5/5 so creamy and great flavor
Chocolate soufflé: best I've had. This is the perfect way to end the meal. The dessert was warm and filled with liquid chocolate goodness. Comes with a scoop of delicious vanilla ice cream. Had to stop myself from licking the plate clean ;)
The service is always wonderful and I always leave with a happy tummy. The patio seating is really nice. However, while I was eating, a group of mosquitos were also enjoying a nice meal. I left with several bites on my ankles and arms.
This restaurant is definitely one of my favorites and I recommend giving them a visit. Maybe put on some bug spray tho if you are dining in around 8 pm. -

The manager Chris reached out to me to give Katana another try. Although I was a bit skeptical, I do believe restaurants have "bad nights" and I truly wanted to love it again since i did use to go there all the time.
With the help of Chris and our amazing and attentive waiter, (unfortunately forgot his name!) our experience was great. All the food tasted great and the waiter came to check up on his more than enough times. We never had to flag him down like we did the other night we were there. Chris did everything in his power to make sure the night went well and it in fact did.
I highly recommend everything we ordered which was:
The sea bass skewer
Some chicken dish that was the size of a skewer but it came on a plate
The sizzling shrimp and scallops
The tuna jalapeño roll
The baked lobster roll (the best thing we ordered)
The Oreo cheesecake (my bf licked the plate clean)
We came back on a Wednesday night but I'll be definitely be back on a Saturday night to make sure everything is the same when the restaurant is busier. If Chris is involved I don't doubt that for a second!
